Welcome to the Daily Blade. The Word of God is described as the sword of the Spirit, the primary spiritual weapon in the Christian's armor against the forces of evil. Your hosts are Joby Martin and Kyle Thompson, and they stand ready to equip men for the fight. Let's sharpen up.
Speaker 2:Hi guys, welcome back. This week we're talking about hate, so specifically hating evil, and we're doing that as we dive into Psalm 97, so let me go ahead and read it again here. It's called the Lord Reigns. The Lord reigns, let the earth rejoice, let the many coastlands be glad. Clouds and thick darkness are all around him. Righteousness and justice are the foundation of his throne. Fire goes before him and burns up his adversaries all around. His lightings light up the world. The earth sees and trembles. The mountains melt like wax before the Lord, before the Lord of all the earth. The heavens proclaim his righteousness and all the peoples see his glory. All worshipers of images are put to shame, who make their boasts and worthless idols worship him. All you gods. Zion hears and is glad, and the daughters of Judah rejoice because of your judgments, o Lord, for you it reads O you who love the Lord, hate evil. He preserves the lives of his saints. He delivers them from the hand of the wicked.
Speaker 2:And my thesis for this batch of episodes is that as Christians, we don't hate evil nearly enough. So yesterday we talked about the evil of abortion. Today we're going to talk about how Christians don't hate the evil of child abuse enough. So, specifically, when I'm talking about child abuse, I'm talking about children that are physically and sexually molested. I'm talking about children that are being trafficked for either sex or for labor. I'm talking about how the culture is preying on young and vulnerable children and convincing them that they were born in the wrong body. And in all of these situations and things that are tangentially attached to them, humans that are more powerful are seizing opportunities to exploit those that are weaker and most vulnerable. So here are three reasons why we should hate child abuse more.
Speaker 2:Reason number one God loves and protects children. So God says through Matthew in Matthew 19, 13 through 14, then children were brought to him that he may lay his hands on them and pray. The disciples rebuked the people, but Jesus said let the children come to me and do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of heaven. And he laid his hands on them and went away. So, guys, in God's kingdom, children are not second-class citizens, right? Maybe they are in your house, or maybe that's kind of how you grew up or something like that, but that's not how God sees it. So here Jesus affirms the value and the dignity of children. So when people devalue and violate a child in any way. It is a direct offense to the heart of God.
Speaker 2:Reason number two God despises human traffickers and sexual exploiters. So you want to know what God thinks of man stealers? So let's look at Exodus 21, 16. Whoever steals a man and sells him and anyone found in possession of him shall be put to death. Okay, I mean, this was part of the law that was given to Israel and this reflects the justice of God. And in the Apostle Paul's first letter to his people, timothy, he says this in 1 Timothy 1, verses 8 through 11. Now we know that the law is good if one uses it lawfully. Understanding this, that the law is not laid down for the just but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and sinners, for the unholy and profane, for those who strike their fathers and mothers, for murderers, the sexually immoral men who practice homosexuality, enslavers, liars, perjurers and whatever else is contrary to sound doctrine, in accordance with the gospel of the glory of the blessed God with which I have been entrusted. So, guys, needless to say, god detests those that participate in human trafficking, especially those in human sex trafficking, and especially those trafficking children.
Speaker 2:The third reason transgenderism is a direct rebellion against God's created order. Genesis 127 says this. So God created man in his own image, in the image of God. He created him Male and female, he created them. So this isn't a created him Male and female, he created them. So this isn't a spectrum here Male and female, he created them. So when you attack human sexual dimorphism, right, you are attacking God's creation and beyond that, you are attacking capital T truth itself. There's almost no more fundamental truth in this entire universe than the separation of the sexes. I mean, without this separation, procreation and propagation of any species would not be possible, right? So God designed all of this in a way, and anyone trying to convince children otherwise, they're doing something abominable, because God designed it this exact way, right? So? Are Christians called to hate? Yes, we are called to hate evil, and our hatred must compel us to act. So we should push back the darkness of child abuse at every opportunity.
Speaker 1:Amen. Thank you for listening to today's episode Before you go. If you want to help equip other men for the fight, share this podcast around and leave us a five-star rating and review. Stay sharp.
