The Daily Blade: Joby Martin & Kyle Thompson
#284 - Kyle Thompson // 31-Day Resilience Reset: Psalm 1, Proverbs 1
We introduce a practical 31-day framework to replace drift with direction using scripture, prayer, movement, and daily challenges. Psalm 1 and Proverbs 1:7 draw a clear line between the way of the righteous and the way of the wicked, showing why neutral is a myth and reverence fuels wisdom.
• why a reset beats getting unstuck
• the daily structure: scripture, prayer, workout, challenge
• Psalm 1 as a map for rooted living
• Proverbs 1:7 as the filter for wisdom
• the myth of neutrality and the danger of drift
• practical steps to choose righteousness over comfort
• habits that turn desire into dependable action

Welcome to the Daily Blade. The word of God is described as the sword of the spirit, the primary spiritual weapon in the Christians' armor against the forces of evil. Your hosts are Joby Martin and Kyle Thompson, and they stand ready to equip men for the fight. Let's sharpen up.
SPEAKER_01:Welcome to a new week of the Daily Blade. So at some point last year, I felt like I needed to create a resource for guys that were just kind of feeling stuck. So I mold the idea over for a few months and kind of bounced it off a few people, but I eventually concluded that most men weren't as much looking for a way to get unstuck, but that they just needed a complete reset. So a complete reset of their spirits, their minds, their bodies. But for most guys, we can't just unplug from our lives and responsibilities and just sit in a remote cabin in the woods for a month and reset ourselves. I mean, that'd be awesome, but it's just not really realistic for most guys. I needed to find a way to help a guy reset himself while still checking the normal boxes of everyday family and life and all that stuff. And I didn't want it to just be another checklist document or some lame self-help plan that you see circulating circulating around on the internet or whatever. So I ended up creating something called the 31 Day Resilience Reset. So you can actually check it out at undaunted.lifeslash 31 days. So each day of this reset, you have to work out, you have to pray for people, you have to read, you have to listen to the Daily Blade, which is convenient because you're already doing that. And there's even a daily challenge. But listed as the first task of each of the 31 days is scripture reading. It's the Bible. Okay. So specifically, there is a listed psalm and proverb that you have to read every single day of the reset. So that's what we're going to do on this week on the Daily Blade. I've picked five days out of the 31-day resilience reset, and we're going to key in on the combo of those days as Psalm and Proverb. And I specifically waited to talk about this on the Daily Blade until we got out of January. Because I mean, you know how it goes. Because this reset isn't just for new year, new me people, right? I mean, this resource is free to all. It can be used and should be used year round for any man in any set of circumstances. Okay. So again, undaunted.live slash 31 days. So let's go ahead and get into the reading for day one of the 31 Day Resilience Reset, which is Psalm 1 and Proverbs 1. So I'm going to read all of Psalm 1 and then verse 7 of Proverbs 1. So guys, make sure that you read all of Proverbs 1 today on your own. So here's Psalm 1. Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the wicked, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of scoffers, but his delight is in the law of the Lord, and on his law he meditates day and night. He is like a tree planted by streams of water that yields its fruit in its season, and its leaf does not wither. In all that he does he prospers. The wicked are not so, but are like chaff that the wind drives away. Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous, for the Lord knows the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked shall perish. And now Proverbs 1 7. The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge. Fools despise wisdom and instruction. So Psalm 1 talks about two kinds of people. It talks about the righteous and the wicked. And then Proverbs 1 7 shows us how you delineate the righteous from the wicked. If you fear the Lord, you are on the path of righteousness. If you despise wisdom and instruction, you are on the path of wickedness. The thing with most guys, though, is that we think we can actually just kind of, you know, float along, you know, just kind of drift. That we're not always actively moving in one direction or another, but that just isn't reality. No, I mean you see, because when it comes to your life, you are always moving at all times, either towards righteousness or towards wickedness. It's essentially a given. But moving towards wickedness is actually pretty easy. You can just unplug, give into your base level instincts, pursue a life of comfort and pleasure, listen to the dumbest of your dumb friends, and poof, like magic, you're on the road to wickedness. You become a fool almost overnight. But moving towards righteousness is actually really hard. It requires you to be plugged in, to delay gratification, to put off fleshly pursuits, and to listen to the voice of your heavenly father out of true reverence. And then poof, like magic, you'll be on the road to righteousness. You become blessed. So, do you want to be a fool or do you want to be blessed? Do you want to go down the way of the wicked or the way of the righteous? It's up to you, but only one of those paths leads to life.
