0:20 Hey guys, welcome back. 0:21 This week we're digging into the scripture reading from five different days from a resource that I made called the 31 Day Resilience Reset. 0:29 So it's a free resource that I made for guys that feel like they're stuck or just drifting, because the reality is that we never get anywhere by accident. 0:36 We get there on purpose. 0:38 And I want you guys to be the best possible versions of yourselves so you can check out the 31 Day Resilience Reset at undaunted.lif slash 31 Days. 0:46 So let's go ahead and get into the reading for day seven of the thirty-one day resilience reset, which is from Psalm twenty-four and proverbs seven. 0:54 So I'll start in Psalm twenty-four, verse one. 0:56 The earth is the Lord's and the fullness thereof, the world and those who dwell therein. 1:01 For he was has founded it upon the seas and established it upon the rivers. 1:05 Who shall ascend the hill of the Lord, and who shall stand in his holy place? 1:10 He who has clean hands and a pure heart, who does not lift up his soul to what is false and does not swear deceitfully. 1:16 He will receive blessing from the Lord and righteousness from the God of his salvation. 1:21 Such is a generation of those who seek him, who seek the face of God, the God of Jacob. 1:27 Selah. 1:28 And then we go to Proverbs seven, and so you can see a stark and direct warning against the adulteress, you know, to avoid her influence. 1:35 So this is Proverbs seven starting in verse twenty one. 1:38 With much seductive speech she persuades him, with her smooth talk she compels him. 1:43 All at once he follows her as an ox goes to the slaughter, or as a stag is caught fast, till an arrow pierces its liver, and a bird rushes into a snare, he does not know that it will cost him his life. 1:54 And now, O sons, listen to me and be attentive to the words of my mouth. 1:58 Let not your heart turn aside to her ways, do not stray into her path. 2:03 For many a victim has she laid low, and all her slain are a mighty throng. 2:09 Her house is the way to Sheol, going down to the chambers of death. 2:14 So here's the thing both Psalm twenty four and Proverbs seven are describing gates. 2:19 So Psalm twenty-four, the gate that the King of Glory enters, and Proverbs seven, the gate that leads to the house of the adulteress. 2:28 And here is the reality that, you know, for for most men that fall into sexual sin, it doesn't happen all at once. 2:36 It's not like you look up one day to discover that you're drowning in sexual sin. 2:40 It's it's not something that happens to you, it's something that you did and kept doing. 2:45 It's a pernicious sin that typically moves slowly until it consumes you entirely. 2:51 And you open the gate of the adulteress one decision, one action at a time. 2:56 But what if we could shift our focus? 2:58 What if we could turn aside to her ways to not stray into her path? 3:05 What would we need to focus on to pull that off? 3:08 Let's actually go back to Psalm twenty-four, and we're gonna do verses seven through ten. 3:12 Lift up your heads, O gates, and be lifted up, O ancient doors, that the King of glory may come in. 3:18 Who is the King of glory? 3:20 The Lord strong and mighty, the Lord mighty in battle. 3:23 Lift up your heads, O gates, and lift them up, O ancient doors, that the King of glory may come in. 3:29 Who is this King of Glory? 3:30 The Lord of hosts, he is the King of Glory. 3:33 Sale. 3:35 The man described in Proverbs 7 is entering the gates of death because he can't control his eyes nor his impulses. 3:42 So we must shift our focus so that we can, you know, our focus that can easily be distracted, I guess, by the siren song of sexual sin. 3:50 We must shift that to the King of Glory. 3:53 You can't stand on the holy hill of God if you're crawling through the gutter. 3:57 Inside of our own brain, inside of your own brain, you need to make a decision that you will no longer flirt with or hang out near sexual sin. 4:06 Make the decision, stop the actions that lead to death, and lift up your heads and feast your eyes on the King of Glory. 4:13 Selah.
