0:20 All right, we made it. 0:21 Day five. 0:22 We're going to do uh verses nine through eleven, but I want to read them in context. 0:27 I feel like part of the reason I do this is if you've listened all five days, now these other verses will make more sense to you as we read through them. 0:34 So if there is any encouragement in Christ, any comfort from love, any participation in the Spirit, any affection and sympathy, complete my joy by being of the same mind, having the same love, being in full accord and of one mind. 0:48 Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves. 0:55 Let each of you look not only at his own interest, but also the interest of others. 0:59 Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus, who, though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God, a thing to be grasped. 1:08 But he emptied himself by taking the form of a servant. 1:11 Being born in the likeness of men and being found in human form, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross. 1:20 Therefore, God has highly exalted him and bestowed on him the name that is above every name. 1:26 Here's what we're going to focus on today. 1:28 So that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confessed that Jesus Christ is Lord to the glory of the Father. 1:41 Here's the reality is that Jesus is returning. 1:45 And the reason that we can believe that he's going to return is because he called the shop when he said he was going to be crucified, dead and buried, and on the third day resurrected from the grave. 1:53 And so if you believe that, then you better believe he's coming back. 1:55 And when he comes back, he's not coming back meek and mild. 2:03 And the reality is the Bible says that at the name of Jesus, every knee should bow in heaven, on earth, and under the earth. 2:11 So here are your two options with Jesus you can bow or you can bow. 2:15 And the reality is, is that for a very short time while we are here on this earth, that if you bow your knee in humility to surrender your life to the Lordship of Jesus Christ, then when he returns, you will be lifted up with him in glory, seated at his right hand as a co-heir of all that he has for you. 2:35 But if you refuse to bow, if you refuse to bow to him as your Lord and Savior, then when he judges you, brother, you will bow. 2:44 So many people say the dumbest thing to me. 2:46 Oh, when I see Jesus, I'm gonna ask him this, that, or the other. 2:49 No, you're not. 2:49 You're gonna fall on your face, you're gonna pee your pants, and you're gonna think, Don't kill me. 2:54 You will bow when he returns, and you will be cast down in judgment for the rest of your life, for the rest of eternity. 3:05 The Bible says that every tongue confesses that Jesus Christ is Lord. 3:10 That's a fact. 3:11 Every single person is gonna call him Lord. 3:15 The question is Lord of what? 3:17 Yeah, Jesus is Lord. 3:19 The question is, Lord of what? 3:20 Well, the reality is he's either Lord of your salvation or your damnation. 3:26 And if he's gonna be Lord of your damnation, I know in this world we're like, what do you mean? 3:30 He's gonna judge me? 3:31 Yes, he's gonna judge you. 3:33 Why? 3:34 Because he is a just judge and all sin must be paid for. 3:37 And for him to overlook sin would make him an unjust judge. 3:42 And so the payment for your salvation, according to the scriptures, there are one there is one of two options that you can take. 3:49 You can take the payment of self-atonement, or you can take the payment of the substitutionary atonement. 3:55 Self-atonement simply means this: if you reject Christ's free offer to receive by grace through faith what he has done for you on the cross, if you reject that, or if you just ignore it and don't pay attention to it, then one day when it is time to pay up, then you will have to pay for your sin for yourself. 4:16 And it's not just what you do, but who you do it against that determines the penalty. 4:20 And every time we sin, we sin against an almighty, eternal God. 4:24 This will require you to pay for the rest of eternity with the one and only life that you have for eternal life. 4:30 That's what hell is. 4:31 It's death without ever dying in a physical, actual, mental, and physical torment. 4:39 That's what it is. 4:41 Or there is the substitutionary atonement. 4:45 That everyone who believes that when Jesus Christ died on the cross in their place and surrenders their life to the Lordship of Jesus Christ, then he has made the payment on your behalf. 4:58 The Bible says, For all who call on the name of the Lord will be saved. 5:03 Second Corinthians 5 21 says it this way that God made him who was without sin to be sin for us, that we would be made the righteousness of God. 5:12 And so on the day he returns, and every tongue confesses that Jesus Christ is the Lord, what will you confess? 5:18 Will he be Lord of your damnation or Lord of your salvation? 5:23 I pray that he will be the Lord of your salvation. 5:25 And you can put your faith in Christ right now for your salvation. 5:30 Again, admit it, I'm a sinner, I need a savior. 5:33 Believe that when Christ died on the cross, it counted for you, and then confess him as Lord. 5:38 Say, Lord Jesus, save me, and that's a prayer that he answers 100% of the time.
